destroy all hope
Morrigan / notes / etc
Every night was the same, like a sick prank from the forces above and beyond, punishing him with a recurring nightmare of ineptitude and human stupidity, a fitting price perhaps, for what he had become. He found it ironic; that even though he had transcended the very boundaries of humanity's mediocrity, that he was still bound to serve them in the way that he did.
Still, being a bouncer at one of the city's most popular bars had its upsides. Not that he enjoyed fulfilling being the stereotypical bouncer douche-bag, but hand picking which of the riff raff he allowed in, or barred entry to was mildly amusing when their reactions resulted in him having to "take action." Those that pissed him off a little bit received the usually ass kicking down the alley to the side of the bar, and those who really annoyed him were sent off with a little remembrance gift; a tropical disease, or something equally as dangerous. It wasn't exactly a smart thing, granted that the city was now crawling with government types, hunting people like him down, but Resire was arrogant enough to believe he could take them.
Tonight however wasn't quite as intolerable as the others though, tonight, there was entertainment; a local arrangement who's vocalist wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other music industry hopefuls that were dragged through the place, and he'd been listening with some enjoyment from his guard post outside the bar's doors for the entirety of the performance. He found that there was something compelling about the singers voice, and Resire was far from the soft type that enjoyed that kind of thing.
When it came time for his shift to end, Resire brought himself inside the bar, perching himself onto a seat, he threw his legs up onto the table and began to watch the performance from within the confines of his red hoodie, readily awaiting the band to resume their music. He sound found however, that the blissful noise that had graced his ears earlier was no where to be found, and instead he was met with a deafening screech that numbed his mind when the vocalist began to sing once more. "Argh," he spat in discomfort, bringing his head into his hands with a grimace.
He held his ears, his eyes closed as he attempted to outlast the song, but his pain increased with each passing moment, until he found it to be too much. He stumbled to his feet in desperation, holding his head as he stumbled through crowds and tables uncontrollably, like one of the many drunk fools that he'd thrown out. He crashed into one man, barging him out of the way. "Watch your shit you inbred fuck," he roared as he rushed past, slamming his way through the doors to the backstage area where the music and singing was somewhat muffled. He slumped down against the wall, breathing heavily as he regained his composure, then allowed some of the contents of his drink to slide down his throat. "What the fuck was that?" he asked in rhetoric, holding the bridge of his nose as he resumed his self destructive drinking in the back hallway, the singing still bothering him somewhat.
